Service for 13th December 2020

Good morning everyone,

I hope you feel filled with joy this morning, but if you are not I pray that you are here because you are seeking joy, seeking greater happiness.

As you listen to the first song on the video please gather your advent wreath if you have one, if not then maybe you have a few candles you can light with us.

I hope you are starting to feel the spirit of the festive season. At home, Declan especially is starting to get excited. Asking each day if it’s time to open presents and reminding us to do our advent readings and stories (and open his calendars of course).

Many blessings,
Chris

An Advent Prayer by Henri J.M. Nouwen:

Lord Jesus, Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.
We who have so much to do and seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day,
We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.
To you we say, “Come Lord Jesus!’ Amen.
